DCWD ADVISORY: Notice of Water Service Interruptions
SET A – NO WATER
WHEN: From 8:00 PM of Saturday, February 15, 2020 until 2:00 AM of Sunday, February 16, 2020 (6 Hours)
WHERE: Some areas served by Calinan Water Supply System (WSS):
De Lara Street including Durian Village, Estrella Village, Megaville Subd., Pioneer Subd. HOA, HILSHA I, and Annies Home and Country Village
WHY: Water supply has to be temporarily shut off in the affected areas to give way to the tapping of a newly installed pipeline to DCWD’s existing pipeline along De Lara Street in Brgy. Calinan.
This is part of the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project, which upon completion will increase the volume of water supply for areas served by Calinan WSS.
SET B- LOW WATER PRESSURE TO NO WATER
WHEN: Sunday, February 16, 2020
Schedule 1: from 12:01 AM until 2:00 AM (2 Hours)

WHY: DCWD’s Tugbok Production Well No. 8 under Tugbok WSS and Riverside Production Well No. 1 under Riverside WSS will be affected by the Davao Light and Power Company’s (DLPC) power interruptions on the said date needed to facilitate the 69kV line works at Tugbok and Calinan. With the power interruptions, the affected facilities will not be able to operate and produce water, and in turn, will not be able to supply water to the affected areas.
Although the power cuts are shorter in duration, DCWD needs additional time for re-switching on the affected facilities, pressure build up, and line delivery, thus the longer duration of water service interruptions.
Notes:
1) Water supply may be restored earlier if emergency works go smoothly or later if unforeseen problems arise.
2) DCWD conducts line flushing after repair works are completed. However, once water is restored, customers are advised to open all faucets and allow water to run for at least two minutes. Do not drink tap water immediately but if needed, boil water beforehand as safety precaution.
3) This information is disseminated through print and broadcast media, DCWD website (www.davao-water.gov.ph), official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/davaowater) and telephone voicemail 235-3293 (DCWD).
4) Always store water in clean and covered containers for emergency use. Leak repairs, downtime in DCWD facilities, and other unforeseen circumstances may cause low water pressure to no water.
