Booming Davao City – The next Singapore Perhaps?

Davao City is fast becoming a boom town in the Southern Philippines. The city has been transformed into the second seat of power by no other than President Rodrigo Duterte, its mayor for over 22 years. 

The largest city in the Philippines has attracted over 2 million tourists in 2018. It also became the darling of potential investors in just a couple of years.

With the growing number of business establishments and tourist arrivals coupled with attractive fiscal incentives, the City of Davao continues to look rosy as an investment hub for many real estate developers.

With a high priority on the modernization of transportation projects like the High Transit Bus System aimed to ease traffic and improve transportation in the City, plus the recently acquired vehicles of City Government of Davao though many jeepney drivers are also worried about their livelihood with its impending rollout –

Despite this, residents are still optimistic that Davao will soon become a globally competitive destination like Singapore in the near future.
